Lake District Via Ferrata

As reported down the UKClimbing.com forums (click here) by johnstan (profile), the Lake District is to get a Via Ferrata at the Honister Slate Mine at Borrowdale, with the opening scheduled for May during the first Keswick Mountain Festival. The Honister Via Ferrata will follow a Victorian miners' route along the face of Fleetwith Pike before topping out on the 2,126ft summit.

A little early for April Fools wind-ups ? OK I can see them putting up a bridge across a slate quarry, but surely they aren't planning a protected scramble all the way up Fleetwith Pike - it wouldn't last a week before it gets chopped
