Pete Robins has made the second ascent of Silk Cut (Font 8B/+) in Parisella's Cave, North Wales.
The problem is one of the top three link-ups in the cave of justice and is akin to approximately a F8c+/9a route. It climbs right from the back of the cave to the very top, via a highball Font 7B+ finish. Pete went on to solo right over the top of the crag through loose ground, as his trad roots meant he wanted to reach the summit.
Pete went to desperate measures to ensure success; he only had two chocolate Easter treats with his dinner and didn't even finish his final pint the previous evening.
His plans now are to "get fat".
Silk Cut was first climbed in 2008 by the super-talented climber Neil Dyer.
