Sharma "Still King" - Flashes Petzl Roctrip Ultimate Route

Last Saturday the Petzl Roctrip was in full force at the stunning limestone crags of Millau, France.

Each year the Petzl team get together and visit a top-class sport climbing destination, developing new routes and having an in-house competition. The Roctrip has two 'Ultimate Routes', one for the men and one for the women.

This year's men's Ultimate Route is a 100m line, around F8c and the only team member to flash the route was Chris Sharma. Other Petzl Roctrippers included Dani Andrada, Daniel Dulac, Tony Lamiche, Sean McColl, Mickaël Fuselier and our very own Steve McClure.

The 90m women's Ultimate Route saw flashes from Martina Cufar and Florence Pinet as well as quick ascents (2nd or 3rd go) from Nina Caprez and veteran Lynn Hill.

The grade of the route is unknown, with the only comment on the Petzl site being "the route is so long that it's impossible to give it a grade. It's not extreme, but it's a good combination of route finding and determination..." from Florence Pinet.

Ey, that makes no sense. Apparently the Womens route is 90m and "so long that it's impossible to give it a grade". Yet they managed to Grade the 100m mans route as 8c?

Anyone know (or care to hazard a guess) as what the grades would be if it was split into 3 pitches of equal length?

But then they say "It's not extreme", so it must HVS or below :)
