Scottish climber Alan Cassidy has ticked the F8c Pata Negra in Rodellar, Spain.

This is Alan's first F8c and, as far as we know, makes him the third Scot to climb at this level.

He warmed down after the route by onsighting a F8a and a F7c+.

Alan is 26 years old and has moved out to Spain to teach English in the same school as Tom Bolger and Lynne Malcolm. Before moving to Catalunya he was based in Glasgow and was a member of the British Climbing Team.

He has ticked over 130 routes of F8a and above and has on-sighted quite a few F8a+'s. He also climbs trad, with on-sight ascents of several E6's and headpoints of E7's including the classic crack of Requiem at Dumbarton.

Alan Cassidy is sponsored by Podsacs , Metolius and Evolv.

Thanks go to Lynne Malcolm for help with this report.
