Produced by Altitude Films/Atlantic Productions and directed by Anthony Geffen this film features Leo Houlding as Sandy Irvine and Conrad Anker plays George Mallory. Also featured is free climbing Everest's Second Step.
If you're up for a couple of pints over the weekend make sure you try the Hesket Newmarket brewery's Kendal MRT Special. Created especially for the Festival, every pint sold donates 20p to Kendal Mountain Rescue. Given that last year saw a record number of pints consumed, let's try for a new record – it's in a good cause!
Easily accessible from the M6 and by train and there are plenty of accommodation options in and around the town but you need to be on your toes as they fill up very quickly over the Mountain Festival weekend.
