After winning the Vail bouldering WC, Daniel Woods swiftly packed his bags and went to an invitational competition, The North Face open, at Curitiba, Paraná in Brazil. To no one's great surprise, he won it ahead of César Grosso and Jean Ouriques.

After the comp, he had some time to sample a little of what the country has to offer in terms of difficult quality bouldering, repeating two 8B's, O dia santo and Os Bacanas and making the FA of a third, The Power of Minduim.

Now, he's back in Colorado, where he'll have a couple of weeks to finish off a bunch of projects in the park, before heading off again. This time to Oz, where he'll spend a month together with Chris Webb-Parsons and Phil Schaal. Chris says the plan is to take them around Sydney bouldering for a few days then off to the Grampians, and also to a place called Bungonia. I think we can safely assume we'll be hearing more about this soon enough.

Well... I asked Chris where he would take them, and if there were any spots with potential for new hard bouldering, and he said they'd go to Bungonia.
