As the UK's winter climbing season draws to a close, UKClimbing.com would like to thank Dan Goodwin for his hard work in producing another set of excellent Scottish winter reports.

Dan, who is a professional mountaineering instructor based in the Cairngorms, has worked hard to compile useful information on conditions and up to date photos almost every week since the start of December.

The thirteen reports he has produced this season have racked up around 65,000 views and we hope, have helped countless winter climbers plan their days out in the Scottish hills. These reports have built on the success of his series from last year and coupled with the UKC Winter Conditions Page, have helped make UKC an essential resource for UK winter climbers.

As for the current climbing conditions -well there's still some ice lingering in the gully lines high up, but for many climbers the call of the rock is too strong and crampons and axes have been shelved ready for the coming spring.

The season has been a good one and we have our fingers crossed for another good winter next year.

Thanks Dan - great work! Bring on the next winter!
