Boardman Tasker Trust lecture: Friday 8th November

On 17th May 1982 Peter Boardman and Joe Tasker disappeared on The Pinnacles on the North East Ridge of Everest. Their deaths closed a remarkable era in British mountaineering. On Friday 8th November the Boardman Tasker charitable trust 20th anniversay lecture will recall their accomplishments at a fund-raising evening for the Boardman Tasker Charitable Trust for Mountain Literature. (This awards the Boardman Tasker prize; see the full list of winners at this site.)
Tickets £15 from Boardman Tasker Trust, St Helen's, 1 Undershaft, London EC3A 8JX (020 7816 8100). A fund-raising dinner follows the lecture. All welcome, but places limited..
The duo left a key legacy in their endeavour - a style that captivated everyone - innovative methods, and exploratory goals. Highlights were Dunagiri, Changabang, Kongur, Everest and Kangchenjunga. A second, and perhaps more lasting, legacy was their four books.
