Fowler - president of the Alpine Club - works for HM Revenue and Customs in the United Kingdom and manages to fit his expeditions around a full time job. He will be using over half of his annual leave entitlement for this trip.

Dave Turnbull is the British Mountaineering Council's ( BMC) chief executive.

Fowler commented on their trip:

"The objective I have in my sights is an eye catching couloir line that leads directly to the summit via the centre of the very steep west face. On the information we have it seems this is an outstanding objective in an area of the Himalaya that has been very rarely visited and is bristling with unexplored terrain. Just getting there will be quite an adventure in itself and I am expecting this to be a challenging and lively expedition."

UKC wish them both the best of luck!
