A new skiing forum has been added to the UKC and UKH forums (it is shared across both). This new forum will be the home for all skiing, snowboarding and ski mountaineering discussion. A skiing forum has been a popular request over the last few years and is a logical addition now that we have added running and biking forums.
Over the years we have tried to avoid creating too many new forums because this can lead to confusion and under-use, but the reverse of that is you can find certain topics being discussed all over the place which makes it difficult to follow all the threads about certain topics. Skiing and ski-mountaineering is obviously a popular activity amongst climbers, walkers and mountaineers so, in the end, it hasn't been a hard decision to add it.
We will now have 20 forums in all plus the two UKC and UKH forums dedicated to our editorial content. There are no immediate plans for any others to be added in the near future.
NOTE: if you aren't interested in Skiing in any of its forms, then you can hide this new forum by clicking on 'User Options' in the top right-hand corner of the page and editing your Favourite Forums list.
Perhaps it might also be time for a skiing gallery in the Photo Galleries? Until then, enjoy a couple of Henry Iddon's stunning skiing shots.
