David Gottlieb and Chad Kellogg on the summit of Nepal's Pangbuk Ri (6716m)
American alpinists David Gottlieb and Chad Kellogg have made what is thought to be the first ascent of Nepal's Pangbuk Ri (6716m). The pair climbed in a single push, summiting via the south face after around twenty six hours of climbing. The descent took them a further twenty four hours.

The route (VI, AI5, M5,1400m) was a defining moment in Kellogg's climbing:

"A 50 hour push is the longest climbing push either of us has done to date. I am thankful to have put up such a demanding line on the South Face, and equally thankful that we were able to descend safely under our own power back to base camp in a single push. This climb defined high altitude climbing minimalism for David and I. I hope that we can continue to push our limits safely in the mountain and put up more beautiful climbs on other unclimbed peaks of the world."

That chad kellogg, trust me he didn't climb this, where are his official timekeepers, he says 50 hours but from the Gps tracking bug I injected in his sleep he was clearly in bed for those 50 hours. look here is the log... chad kellogg + time he says on climb = in bed at his house. I on the other hand did it in 49 hours, and employed my mum as timekeeper. this should be taken to the highest court in the land etc..........
