Fran Brown Wins World Championships

British climber Fran Brown (recently profiled on UKClimbing) has won the Paraclimbing World Championships in Paris.

WELL DONE FRAN!

Fran, who has partially lost the use of her legs following a spinal cord injury, was competing in the female physical-disability category.

It was a pleasure and an honour to watch all of the Para-climbers in Paris. They were truly inspirational. The crowd were amazing - going completely quiet during the VI climbers attempts and then erupting with cheers. The noise during the Amputee final was amazing.

That's really cool, good for Fran! The video was a bit fuzzy to see the holds, but some looked pretty small - anyone know what kind of grade these climbs are?

I was really impressed that the IFSC had included the para climbing in the main event and not just tagged on at the end. This is such a set forward for disabled sport and something that has shown that climbing accepts all climbers. Well done.
