Friday the 18th July, will see an organised clean-up of the area surrounding the Harrison's Rocks. It is being organised by Sarah Cullen of Nuts4Climbing who manages the toilet block, car park and Julie Tullis campsite.

Sarah, who is a member of both the Harrison's Rocks Management Group and the local Volunteer Working group has worked tirelessly to see that the facilities at Harrison's were re-opened. She has put out the following request:

Friday evening 18th July 2014 Clean-up of the Harrison’s Car Park

"Thought we could see if we can get some help to tidy up the car park? There are a lot of weeds and over-grown brambles and I reckon with a strimmer or two and some loppers we could make it look beautiful in no time; perhaps create some seating out of some old trees around the campfire. Would suggest we do this on a Friday evening when the car park is likely to be quiet. Any person who joins us on the Friday for the clean-up can stay at the campsite free of charge for the 18th to 20th July weekend."

By the number of climbers that have been staying over at the weekend at the campsite it may be more crowded on the 18th than she imagines, but we can all help. Let me know if you are coming so I can let Sarah know the rough numbers. Bring heavy gloves and if you have them – wheel barrows, saws, bill hooks etc to handle the brambles and such.

We will be there from 4pm.
