Charlie Woodburn has just returned from a successful two week trip to Ireland where he visited both Fair Head and the Burren. The highlights of Charlie's trip were a headpoint of The Dark Side, E8 6c, Very Big Springs, E7 6b, ground-up and a number of E6's and E5's onsight.

Charlie headed out with friend Sash Coombes heading first to Fair Head. After ticking through a list of classics Charlie made a quick headpoint of The Dark Side, E8 6c. 

The pair then headed over to the Burren on the West Coast of Ireland. Highlights for Charlie here included Very Big Springs, E7 6b, ground-up on his second go, an onsight of Damn the Torpedoes, E6 6b, and a number of E5's also onsight.

Charlie commented on the style of climbing at the two different venues:

"The trad climbing at both these crags is absolutely fantastic although very different – Fair Head being big, north facing, and having a brooding grandness to it and the Burren having a much smaller, more relaxed holiday vibe."
