The annual grass-roots climbing competition for children at High Schools in Scotland has begun its Qualifying Rounds. It's free to enter and there are 3 different age groups and both a top-rope and a lead category. Children compete on behalf of their school and have 4 weeks to complete 4 routes at the host wall local to them. The top 5 in each category are invited to a Grand Final in March 2015.

Host walls are: Glasgow Climbing Centre, Transition Extreme Aberdeen, Avertical World Dundee, Alien Rock Edinburgh and The Peak Stirling.

The SSCC is organised by Glasgow Climbing Centre, St Aloysius School, and the MCofS to encourage more children and schools to get into climbing.
