Following on from last week's news of Steve Dunning's ascent of the iconic arete of The New Statesman, it seems that Santa just had to get in on the action.
Christmas Eve saw Santa (aka Will Atkinson) preparing for his annual night of chimneying by climbing what is one of Yorkshire's finest Gritstone routes - The New Statesman.
Will donned his Santa hat and made a smooth ascent of The New Statesman (E8 7a) (graded the original E8 in Will's video, but upgraded to E9 in the new Yorkshire Grit Guide).
That's about as good a Christmas present as you can get! Good effort Will.
Will commented on his Vimeo Page: "Really happy to have climbed such a classic. They don't get much better than this."
