American climber Emily Harrington is perhaps most known for being a successful competition climber, having represented the USA for many years on the international circuit. However, over the last few years Emily has become quite the all-rounder - turning her talent towards skiing, alpinism and bolder traditional climbs.
In this video, Emily bravely throws her goals for 2015 into the open: to reach the finals of the US Sport Climbing Nationals, complete an 8b+ sport project, free climb Golden Gate (5.13) on El Capitan and summit Makalu (8463m) without oxygen.
Why such varied goals? "I like the idea of being a diverse and competent mountain athlete."
