Hot on Alex Megos' heels, Jakob Schubert has made the 3rd ascent of Adam Ondra's Thor's hammer, 9a+, in the Flatanger cave in Norway.

The other day, Jakob told me he had had two days on the route, but that he needed to get use to the length of the climbing. I guess that, being the professional that he is, this adaptation went rather swiftly after all!

Jakob still has a couple of days left until he leaves on 1 September, so maybe he'll dig deep and find some energy for another one this weekend.

I have only 2 climbing days left, not sure what I'll try, just have fun and maybe check out something for the next trip, cause this is not my last time here thats for sure

There is an extension/second pitch to Thor's hammer, but something tells me that's not exactly a two day project... Alex didn't seem too interested in it (to put it mildly) and, according to my source (Jakob himself), that goes for Jakob as well.

Arrived at the crag just as Jakob was finishing this off, with what looked like an absolute tonne of rope drag! Sterling effort, and super motivational to watch. The weather was absolutely awful as well!
