This week we have an exclusive UKC video interview with some of the actors and filmmakers behind the new 3D Everest blockbuster. Based on the events of the 1996 expedition disaster in which 8 people lost their lives in a storm, the film - which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, Jason Clarke and Keira Knightley - has been released in UK cinemas today.
Dominic Green speaks to Director Baltasar Kormakur, co-producer David Breashears and actor Jason Clarke - playing protagonist and Everest guide Rob Hall - about their 'humanising' approach to the film. Unlike most Holywood mountaineering films, Kormakur has shunned melodramatic story-telling and instead opted to focus on the authenticity of the events which unfolded on the mountain.
