Will Stanhope Soloing in SquamishFri Night Vid

© UKC News

This week's Friday Night Video by Blaise Sack of Moves Media features Canadian climber Will Stanhope soloing in Squamish in British Columbia, on the renowned West Chief.

The route is 1,000 ft to the valley floor following a crack and corner on the North face of the Chief - High Plains Drifter (5.11c) - graded 5.11c. In this video, Will explains how free soloing is not about pushing your abilities to the limit, but rather climbing within your means to enjoy the freedom on the rock.

Featuring some impressive aerial footage, this video will surely make you thankful for your rope and belayer at the crag this weekend!

Cool guy. Nice to see somebody else other than Honnold getting media coverage for soloing.
