Rockfall in Vivian Quarry

Mountaineering Instructor Mark Reeves has been in touch to warn about a rockfall which has occurred from above the Conscience Slab in Vivian Quarry. The Padarn Park has fenced off access to the poolside level from Mental Lentils (HVS 5b) due to the danger.

Heavy rainfall in the area is believed to have caused the significant rockfall last week. The full extent of the damage to affected climbs is not yet known.

Mark commented:

"I was in the quarry yesterday and in the hour I was there a couple of sizeable blocks came down from up high."
