Reigning lead world champion Jain Kim of Korea is known to many as one of the best competition climbers ever to grace the international circuit. Her style is slow and considered, having been likened to the movements of a ballerina.

But what can she manage on rock? This short video shows Jain changing scenes and climbing outside on the rocks of Niederthai in Austria's Ötztal in-between World Cup rounds.

Another video spoilt by annoying editing; with all the jumping around, drone fly bys and irritating slow motion bits, we'll just have to take your word for the slow and considered ballerina thing. A pity. What's wrong with just pointing a camera and letting the climbing speak for itself?

ADHD post-MTV generation would not like that kind of things... But have a look at the ISCF vids for more "natural" climbing of Jain Kim.

I agree. Slightly short sighted self indulgent film making. Speaks more about the film makers than the subject. But then that describes most of the 'new', digital age, army of film makers. They could have just shown another move or two between cuts.
