The Ticklist #13 - Hard Sport, Highball Bouldering and Horrendous Crack Climbing
In this week's Ticklist, we take a look at some hard sport ascents, Barbara Zangerl's ascent of Greenspit and the usual hard bouldering.
Jimmy Webb has made the first ascent of The Matriarch, ~8C, in the middle of Rocktown, Georgia, USA.
Well it's done! Yesterday I climbed the FA of a sick new roof right in the middle of Rocktown. 6 days deep this season and it was beginning to turn into an epic. For 2 days I struggled doing a single move and for 3 more days I proceeded to fall off the last hard move. Luckily yesterday on my last ditch effort to finish it up I put it together perfectly and ended up on top for the First ascent. So psyched to add this amazing hard line to a place I love so much. 'The Matriarch' V15.
Previously, Jimmy has done half a dozen or so of the grade, and it would have been quite a few more if he hadn't suggested downgrades.
