Ramón Julián Puigblanque has made he first ascent of Maya, 9a+, at Margalef in Spain.

The route overhangs around 45 degrees, is 40 meters long and is all about endurance on one and two finger pockets and small edges.

Ramonet has said he really wants to win another world championship, and with this kind of form and Paris just around the corner, it could look worse for the Spaniard.

He has previously become World champion in Lead in 2007 and 2011 and also European champion in the same discipline in 2004, 2010 and 2015, which was also the latest World Cup he won.
