As reported earlier this week, British alpinist and artist Andy Parkin lost his Chamonix artist's workshop to a fire last weekend. An online community crowdfunding appeal was set up, collecting just under 27,000 Euros so far. This week's Friday Night Video was released in 2008 and features Andy reflecting on a near-fatal accident in the Alps, his artwork and living 'a life in adaptation'.
The film by Blue Hippo Media and Weekday Productions won the Judges' Special Prize at the Kendal Mountain Festival in 2008 and later went on to win Best Film at ShAFF in March 2009. Thanks to Dominic Green and Pip Piper for making the film available to UKC.
