It wasn't Alex plan to climb at all on this particular day, but as so often, things didn't go as planned:
Was supposed to be a rest day and went out to spot Joel. He got me all psyched to try "Dead Meadow" V13/ 8B in Wild Basin and surprised myself with a send! First day on it as well.
For the last couple of years, Alex has focused on her outdoor climbing and thus hasn't competed on the World cup circuit, with the exception of the Vail competition last year.
She reached the final there, but couldn't do herself justice because of neck pains which turned out to be due to a herniated disc between her C5 and C6 vertebrae. She had spinal fusion surgery shortly after the competition and after extensive rehab training she managed to come back and is now perhaps stronger than ever before.
June 9-10 she'll back in Vail for her revange. Needless to say it will be very interesting to see how it goes.
