Ratho cancelled for Urban Rock BRYCS final

The BRYCS final to be held on the 27 September at the new Ratho Wall has been moved as essential facilities will not be completed in time. Ratho is the huge development outside Edinburgh which will have a massive 23m leading wall when it is finished. Although the wall itself is ready to climb on, it is facilities such as toilets and catering which are incomplete. BMC Competitions and Climbing Wall Officer, Graeme Alderson expressed his and the Ratho team's disappointment. They would be in danger of not being granted a license to allow public access to the building if they pushed ahead. The final has been moved to the Welsh International Climbing Centre.

> Ratho? Delayed? Well considering it was first supposed to open in 2001, and then in 2002, and then this Spring, I suppose there was a vague hope they might finally have been able to forecast a completion date. Considering the history of the Ratho project, was there a Plan B in the not-entirely-impossible event of them failing to be able to accomodate the final, and did Plan B have a budget attached to it?

so I'll take it that there wasn't a Plan B. Despite Ratho having demonstrated on numerous occasions their inability to produce deliverable schedules?
