About the Job Role

The ideal candidate will have previous management experience, with a track record of managing and motivating people. You should have a flexible approach to work, possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and be able to comfortably converse with adults and children alike.

As a Duty manager your responsibilities will include the opening and closing of the facility, carrying out essential safety checks in both the climbing centre and skatepark and ensuring Health & Safety is at the forefront of all that we do. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of the centre during their shift, offering support and guidance to the staff be this reception, instruction, route setting, café or skate park, as well as assisting the senior management to drive the business forward.

The role is predominantly climbing orientated, though this position also includes general oversight of the skatepark's activities and its users.

You will be required to deliver groups which can range from simple taster sessions to birthday parties, learn to climb sessions and GCSE/NICAS courses.

There is also the opportunity to work with the head route setter to hone your route setting skills on the lines and in our bouldering area.

You will be responsible for the structuring and delivery of our kids groups, climbing squad and develop in-house training plans to deliver these sessions.

You will ideally have some general DIY knowledge and have the ability to help with minor repairs and upgrades within the centre.

Essential Requirements
Minimum CWI  (CWDI preferred)
Current first aid certificate
Current CRB check (though one will be performed)
Have previous management experience (all levels considered)
Reliable & punctual
Excellent communication skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Have a methodical mind-set
Ability to cope under pressure
Be a team leader and team player
Previous cash handling experience
Computer literacy skills
You will need to have a flexible approach to working and be able to adapt to changes in circumstances.

This role reports directly to the Centre Manager

Desirable but non-essential requirements
General maintenance experience
Food handling experience
Microsoft office experience
Route setting experience
Knowledge of Skateboarding & BMX

Salary: £24000.00pa 35 hours per week (working 40)
