Working alongside an experienced and professional team you will be responsible for front of house operations within the business, ensuring that the highest standard of service and best possible guest experience is maintained. We are looking for full-time permanent staff who are able to commit to long-term employment. The role would suit mature applicants who are able to commit to living and working in a remote area on the outskirts of the Vatnajökull National Park.
Main duties include:
• Familiarize with all front office policies and procedures, as well as all excursions offered by Glacier Guides.
• Managing computer based booking systems; actively monitoring and optimizing availability of all Glacier Guides excursions.
• Overseeing the check-in process, ensuring clients are well informed and prepared for their chosen activity.
• Handling client inquiries in person, over the phone and by email.
• Handling cash/card transactions, taking payments and processing refunds with approval from management staff.

At a minimum, we would expect applicants to be able to:
• Communicate clearly in English (other languages would benefit your application).
• Demonstrate an interest in outdoor activities, whether personally or professionally.
• Be legally entitled to live and work in Iceland (nationals of EU/EEA countries).
Any first aid qualifications or previous experience in a similar role or would greatly benefit your application, although this is not mandatory.
