The Climbing Hub is a brand new centre based in Bradford with plans to open this Summer! We are a large centre offering extensive and spacious bouldering, plenty of lead climbing, dedicated training area with huge circuit boards and a strength & conditioning specific gym, along with many other facilities.

We are looking for climbing enthusiasts wanting to share their passion with like-minded individuals and the next generation of climbers. Job Title: Duty Manager

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Responsible for: Climbing Wall Attendants and Instructors

Salary: £19,000 pro rata per annum

Hours: Full-time and part-time available. Weekend and evening work required.

Overall Purpose:

As Duty Manager, the post-holder will be a leader to a dynamic team of Climbing Wall Attendants and Instructors delivering a high standard of customer service to the centre's users. You are responsible for the provision of a safe, fun and welcoming climbing centre, ensuring that yourself and your colleagues bring a passion for climbing to work with you every day. You will manage customer, membership and your team's enquiries face to face, by telephone and email. As well as undertaking other reception, café and shop duties. You will also deliver climbing sessions to a variety of users/groups including school and youth groups, adults and families, youngsters, and private coaching sessions.

You will be responsible for the centre in the Operations and Centre Manager's absence, often during peak hours. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team well and have a positive, sociable and flexible approach to your role, whilst being aware of the responsibility the role provides you with. You'll most likely already be an experienced climber, embedded into the sport's culture and passionate about promoting its accessibility and benefits.

Main responsibilities-

  • Managing the day to day running of the centre and assisting the Operations Manager.
  • Handling customer enquiries and managing the Climbing Wall Attendants and Instructors.
  • Checking customers in and managing the POS system.
  • Planning and instructing sessions for new and existing customers.
  • Keeping safety at the forefront of your mind. Recognizing potentially dangerous behaviour and monitoring the business in line with our regulations.
  • Providing a high-quality and friendly service when assisting customers throughout the centre, shop and café.
  • Opportunity for responsibility over specific centre duties- Setting, Café, Bookings. (Will be discussed at interview stage).

Job Title: Climbing Wall Attendant/ Instructor

Reporting to: Duty Managers // Operations Manager

Responsible for: N/A

Salary: Competitive rate of pay

Hours: Full-time and part-time and casual shifts available. Weekend and evening work required.

Overall purpose:

As front-line staff, the post-holder will be a part of a dynamic team delivering a high standard of customer service to the centre's users. You will be responsible for bringing your passion for climbing to work with you every day, making the general day to day functioning of the centre a success. You will manage customer and membership enquiries face to face, by telephone and by email, as well as undertaking reception, café and shop duties.You will also deliver climbing sessions to a variety of users/groups including school and youth groups, adults and families, youngsters, and private coaching sessions.

Roles will include:

  • Checking customers in and managing the POS system.
  • Planning and instructing sessions for new and existing customers.
  • Keeping safety at the forefront of your mind. Recognizing potentially dangerous behaviour and monitoring the business in line with our regulations.
  • Providing a high-quality and friendly service when assisting customers throughout the centre, shop and café.
  • Help promote The Climbing Hub culture that encourages inclusiveness, social responsibility, top performance and high morale.

The successful candidates need to meet the following specification:

  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • A desire to assist the Operations Manager to ensure the business progresses in a positive way.
  • Show knowledge, enthusiasm and be informed about the climbing and outdoor industry.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as well as a willingness to cover shifts at short notice.
  • A willingness to grow and develop your skills.

The following is desirable (other factors will be taken into consideration)-

  • 2 years climbing experience
  • CWI qualification / other recognised qualification relevant to the role.
  • Relevant experience in the industry.
  • First Aid Qualification.
