The website www.ukoutdooractivities.co.uk has been created to become the portal/booking site for outdoor activities in Cumbria and the Lake District. People can roam the site for activities on certain dates, then book and pay for them directly from the site.
The website will service activity providers large and small, and communicate with a targeted audience who are looking for their next adventure. Regular communication with a large subscription list will allow UK Outdoor Activities to maximise on visitors coming to the Lakes and Cumbria looking for activities to participate in.
The website offers a fresh and eye-catching look which is easy to use and navigate for users to find their chosen activity. Activities can be searched for by date, activity, fitness level and location, a full description of the activity is then outlined with a link through to book the activity.
The idea for the website follows on from the successful Keswick Mountain Festival held in May which is an outdoor event managed and owned by Bluestone Events. The website for the Keswick Mountain Festival uses a similar process for booking activities online and proved very popular with over 700 bookings made online over the 5 days of the event.
The website has already received support from a number of activity providers and businesses in the area including Magnetic North, Mountain Sport Photography, High Points and Quest 4 Adventure.
Lucy Bennett, Director says: "We are very excited about this new project, there are thousands of visitors that flock to Lake District and Cumbria who are looking for activities to participate in, the site will offer a range of different activities to inspire people to get into the outdoors. It will also extend the reach for activity providers and increase the exposure for these companies on the website."
