Mountain Training Join Sherpa Adventure Gear Test Team

The Technical Officers of Mountain Training have joined Kenton Cool, Neil Gresham and Ed Hamer as official UK testers of Sherpa Adventure Gear and Icebreaker mountain clothing.

Mountain Training is the co-ordinating body for all mountain training schemes in the UK, overseeing the training and assessment of around six thousand leaders and instructors per year. Their team of technical officers in each of the home nations are responsible for the delivery and monitoring of all Mountain Training courses via 250 recognised specialist course providers.

George McEwan, Steve Long, Mal Creasey, Jonny Garside, Bryn Williams, Belinda Fear, Andy Say, Trevor Fisher and John Cousins will be reporting back on how the clothing stands up to the rigours of their working lives in the British outdoors, where they cope with the hazards of everything from a white out on Ben Nevis to a packed sweaty climbing wall, and from a major sea cliff descent to a downpour on a remote moorland.

New Zealand merino brand Icebreaker is already well known, but Sherpa is a new brand in the UK from this September. More about Sherpa, including a video of Kenton Cool reporting how he's got on with the gear so far, in this news item:
