18-months ago, with ten solid years of hard training under its belt, the MoonBoard received its first major update with the introduction of the LED System and Smartphone App. Since then, more than 20,000 registered MoonBoard users have climbed and contributed to the 12,000+ problems, ranging from 6b+ to 8b, and 100 "Benchmark" problems, from 6b to 7c+.
These two-new hold sets combined with the existing three MoonBoard hold sets will make up the MoonBoard Masters 2017 setup, filling all 198 MoonBoard hold spaces.
We're equally as excited to announce that this new setup will be launched globally to coincide with 'The North Face MoonBoard Masters' invitational competition on December 9, 2017.
The North Face MoonBoard Masters will take place simultaneously from four iconic MoonBoard locations around the world and streamed live online. With teamwork at its forefront, the competition will pitch five famous duos against each other in a MoonBoard battle of strength and skill.
Daniel Woods and Kyra Condie at The Cliffs in New York City, USA.
Alex Megos and Margo Hayes at The Foundry in Sheffield, UK.
Rustam Gelmanov and Katja Kidic at Sharma Climbing in Barcelona, Spain.
Jongwon Chon and Miho Nonaka at Crux Climbing Gym in Osaka, Japan.
Tomoa Narasaki and Akiyo Noguchi at Crux Climbing Gym in Osaka, Japan.
We will release further details about the new MoonBoard set, holds and The North Face MoonBoard Master competition, over the coming weeks.
