From 18th – 20th May the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena (EICA) will be hosting the 3rd European Youth Cup.
The competition will attract some of the top climbing talent from across Europe, with up to 250 competitors from 25 different nations. Competitors will compete for podium positions on 'The Hanger', 'Speed Wall' (the only one in Britain) and the 'North West Wall', across a variety of categories including age, gender and discipline.
Edinburgh Leisure Head of Customer Operations Lindsay Renwick said: “We are excited to be hosting this fantastic event again at the EICA: Ratho and look forward to welcoming some of the best competitors from around Europe. It's guaranteed to be an excellent event where junior climbers can test their skills on our world class facilities.”
This year the EICA looks forward to welcoming local Ratho resident Calum Forsyth to the competition, who will be competing in the junior male lead category. Calum learnt to climb at the centre, and made it into the GB Team this year.
You are invited to come along and watch the competition. For more information on the event please visit www.eica-ratho.co.uk.
