This weekend is the Kendal Mountain Festival - the biggest and best annual gathering of climbers, mountaineers and hillwalkers in the UK. In case you missed it, here is a reminder of the main attractions this year. There are still tickets available to some events.

'Kendal' is the biggest event of its type in Europe and it's the main social event for outdoor enthusiasts in the UK. As ever there'll be hundreds of film screenings including high-profile premieres plus loads of speakers and special guests making this a must-do long weekend in the Lake District.

If you’re in the London area, make a note that mountain films hit the big time later this month when, in conjunction with the British Film Institute, there’s a special Kendal Mountain Film weekend at the BFI’s Southbank film centre. Your chance to see the best mountain action and adventure films in mindblowing full HD and theatre sound!
From Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th November, the finest KMF films will be playing across three cinema screens with a big event on the Friday night featuring three of the UK’s top filmmakers – Alastair Lee, Paul Diffley and Leo Dickinson – presenting their films and talking about their work.

ACCOMMODATION
Easily accessible from the M6 and by train and there are plenty of accommodation options in and around the town but you need to be on your toes as they fill up very quickly over the Mountain Festival weekend.
