Pertex Elemental Journeys Episode 4 – Every Few Winters Press Release

When the days grow shorter, and skiers begin to dream of their favourite pistes and perfect powder days, it's not often that they imagine the Scottish Highlands. Yet for those in the know, Scotland is an obsession. A foggy, dented gem, beautiful in its own way; not for its clarity or perfection, but for its obscurity and esoteric nature.

Episode 4.2, 148 kb

As the local heroes will tell you, if you come to ski in Scotland for the quality alone, you're going to be disappointed. But despite that, the backcountry ski community in Scotland is soaring, and more folk are added to the roster every day. If you come for the adventure, solely embracing the opportunity to clip in and point yourself downhill, then more often than not you'll be rewarded. Children are wrapped up in onesies and zipped up the cable-car to brave the pistes with their parents whilst architects, plumbers and accountants shrug their shoulders at the less-than-ideal weather forecast and set an early alarm regardless.

Episode 4.1, 112 kb

From the misty peaks of Glen Shiel with seasoned steep skiers Pete Mackenzie, Dave Searle and Hamish Frost, to the Back Corries and scoured slopes of Aonach Mor with 4 year old Murray, 'Every Few Winters' explores the quirky, unique community of Scottish skiers who epitomise dedication to their sport and an unrivalled tenacity. The entry requirements? Patience and resilience in abundance.
