Swedish climber Matilda Söderlund has chosen to start working with fellow Swedish outdoor brand Tierra.

Söderlund impressed the climbing world last year with her onsights of two 8b routes in a single day in Spain. These were followed only a few days later by a flash of the Kalea Borroka (8b+) only to move on to Frankenjura, Germany climbing one 8b+ and one 8c, establishing her as one of the top sport climbers in the world. She has also made good results in different bouldering competitions topping out with a second place of last years’ Tierra Boulder Battle.

Matilda will, apart from spreading the brand Tierra, be very much involved in the development of parts of Tierra’s collection.

It’s a pleasure and honor to welcome Matilda into the Tierra family, the Brand Manager of Tierra, Erik Tjerneld says. Her results speak for themselves but we are equally happy to have her commitment and personality as a part of our team of ambassadors and look forward to a long lasting relationship.

Matilda’s merits:

  • 6th World Games 2013
  • 6th VM 2012
  • Climber of the Year 2012 – Swedish Climbing Federation
  • 2nd Tierra Boulder Battle 2013
  • 3nd Tierra Boulder Battle 2012
  • Has climbed 8c+ och 8b+ samt 8b on the first try

Tierra, founded 1983 in Sweden, has a background in the Himalayan expeditions of the early nineties. With the experience from these, together with the help of our test team of mountain guides and other athletes, we keep developing clothes that fulfill these tough demands. At the same time, we get garments that are tested in really extreme conditions, for the more normal user. Tierra were oneof the first brands in the Nordics to work with Gore-Tex®.
