The Climbing Works International Festival, aka The CWIF, will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2016 and with this landmark birthday, The Climbing Works announce a new CWIF headline sponsor partnership with Rab.
Rab are a Peak District based outdoor brand which began life in Sheffield and The Climbing Works are proud that a brand with such history has chosen to support a competition in its home city.

The Rab CWIF will take place on the 12/13th March 2016. The Climbing Works will be striving to go bigger and better than ever before with a weekend of climbing and festivities that will highlight the values and history of this great competition while providing inspiration for young and old alike. This is the only UK international bouldering competition where amateur and professional climbers have the opportunity to compete side by side. For those who are unable to attend the event and for audiences around the world, the online offer will be greater than ever before, with unique activity running across The Climbing Works social media feeds as well as a live stream, delivered by our broadcast partners.
In 2015 The CWIF filled all its 350 competitor places within 30 hours so in 2016 we will be increasing competitor places to 450 with a revised Saturday lineup now allowing 3 qualifying sessions instead of the historical 2. We will be making this 3rd session extra special with some tweaks that will create a unique festival atmosphere – more details will follow in the New Year but expect music, fancy dress, unique problems and lots of fun.
The Rab CWIF 2016 will be supported by longtime partners Berghaus, Scarpa & Axis Holds.
The Rab CWIF will also be once again raising funds for Climbers Against Cancer.
The CWIF has always been an international competition with a fun, friendly, atmosphere being central to it all. For our 10th anniversary we have linked up with the renowned Café Kraft climbing gym (Nurenburg, Germany) to create a special prize for two lucky climbers. The winners of this competition will be intensively trained by the amazing Café Kraft coaches over the next few months to compete at The Rab CWIF 2016. The prize also includes flights, accommodation, entry to The CWIF, special VIP passes and the opportunity to climb with Ben Moon and Shauna Coxsey on the Gritstone post CWIF.
