"Find Your Alive" at Kendal Mountain Festival

Sunday 21st Nov, 17:30, Kendal Town Hall.

Doors open 30 mins prior to session start.  Run time: 90 mins.

Every year, lovers of the outdoors descend on the lake district town of Kendal for a weekend of celebrating everything we love about our community.  There are talks, presentations, films, and a host of other activities to do, helping you get inspired and emboldened for your next adventure.

We have teamed up with some of our world-leading athletes for an inspirational evening talking about how, where, and why they Find their Alive:

Jenny Tough recently completed her 5-year challenge to run solo and unsupported across a mountain range on every continent, culminating in her crossing the Transylvanian Alps in Romania a few months ago.

Becks Ferry, an accomplished ultra-marathon runner, has undergone a VERY ambitious project this year:  Guided by montane athlete Jon Gupta (who will also hopefully be in attendance), she attempted to summit six 8000m peaks in a single year.  IN doing so she became the first British woman to successfully summit K2 and gain the record for 8000m peaks summited by a UK woman along with a host of other records.

Jon Gupta is a montane athlete and world-renowned high-altitude mountaineer and adventurer who has organised, climbed, guided and summited major mountains on 80+ major expeditions all over the world.

Join us and presenter James Cummings as they share how and where they feel most alive, and what compels them to set out on these adventures.
