Well 'Aperturing' if there's such a term!
Stupidly high dynamic range scene, so any signal shot is going to be a bit of a compromise.
Edit was simply crop to 3:2 aspect ratio, drop the high-lights, selectively saturate the sky above the clouds to get something close to the colour I actually saw. Nowt else (IIRC)

Having the sun in shot made your life harder I suspect! I think it works better without the harshness of the light at the top. Lovely creamy inversion - nice work!
