Is there a trick to this that I missed, I did manage to get up it after a few goes.

Why not try pasting your left foot on one of the wee ripples directly below where your heel is and rocking up on that.

never even looked at that?? mmm might be back there this w/e I'll have a look, not sure I'd be able to hold the hand holds face on. can but try though

I guess the doability of the method I suggested depends on how good/ far away the next hold is..! Looks like a cool problem though!!
