Very clear air today makes the nearer hills look like a cardboard cut out against the snow clad peaks behind.

From Lake Coniston, not Coniston village.

I must eat lashings of humble pie as it's been pointed out to me there's no such thing as Lake Coniston. It should be Coniston Water. The shame of it....
