What on earth possessed you to stick a top-rope on this?? It's 2009 not 1999.

hmm...maybe because they aren't confident enough to lead it?
Was that a serious question?

The fact that i lead Hvs. And its an E8 and i was in the area.
Just being under the route was amazing. but i had to feel what it was like!
You can go for the onsight.. Mr. Cool!

Its was hard for sure. The bottom move is Very Powerful! If i did the move from the rope or from above i could do the rest. But i couldnt this enitial move, which is the crux.
The second crux is at the top of the groove, awkward mvoes right but doable.
Its very Pecarious.. But it all goes!

In response to Fiend, what he is trying to get across is that if we all went and skidded about toproping classic hard extreme grit routes, these routes would become polished nightmares rendering them unclimbable for those at the elite end of our sport.
Its about consideration, humility and a sense of decorum and save these routed for those who have a chance of headpointing them.

In that case you better never go sport climbing again. The safety of the bolts allows you to dog routes that would normally be way beyond your ability. You might as well strip the bolts and go for the on sight solo. After all I mean if you fall of and die its your fault for adding polish and lowering a route meant for the elite down to your level.
really though if people want to top rope something by all means go ahead. Its good to toprope stuff beyond your level, as it means you improve and have an understanding of how hard a particular grade is.

If no one top ropes these hard routes then theyl get all green and dirty as they never get climbed then the elite come along and out of neccesity have to brush and garden them first..............

When Dawes said climbing is a storm in a tea cup he was dead right
