Is that not a rope running over his leg?
Dan Lane - 29/Dec/09
is either a rope or a snake!!! might be one of these 'roped' solo's.
mulletcocktail2000 - 29/Dec/09
Yep. I put it on so that it felt like i was on lead, but i didn't use any gear or a belayer. Do you really think that this is worth a 2 or was that just because of the rope?
Matt Fry - 29/Dec/09
This photo is definately not worth a "2". Some people here forget that they're rating the photography, not the climber...
thumbs up from me ;)

Thanks Jayson :)

top photo mate, really captures the moment I think! I gave it a 4 :)! However, you shall have to be shot for wanting psychological comfort, how unethical!
Sam1991 - 29/Dec/09
i'm doubtful the rope adds much 'mental' safty. in any case no rope/gear etc=solo. if you rope up but don't used gear, is it really a solo?
mulletcocktail2000 - 31/Dec/09
So we have a difference of opinion of a subject I have no interest in debating further than to ask you if you think that Andy Kirkpatrick didn't really solo Reticent Wall? I'm not really bothered about the exact style I did this route in as it's 4 grades lower than my current hardest route, and I did it for fun.

Props to Fry! Ignore them mate, top photo
