My first route on Cloggy, 1973. Climbed on a single Viking nylon hawser rope - which must have been fairly new because it was still white!

This just goes to show that it's who you know not what you know - this only gets a "3" on my gallery! I'm not sure that it's strictly ethical if I give it a five on here....

Are you sure that's a hawser rope? I recall an 11mm kernmantle. I don't think I used a hawser-laid rope after I left school. Horrible things....
