Crampon fell off at crux. Duncan attempted to lower off his axe threaded behind a fragile icicle with the inevitable result. Fell circa 20m with a Warthog stopping him from hitting the ground. Pic taken after lowering him the final 2m

Brilliant, if ever a picture told a story.

Absolutely classic, although I think he is smiling a little too much for Scottish winter climbing, not suppose to be fun ;¬)

He was smiling with relief and from memory also muttering something about needing a cigarette......

I can imagine, having now seen the other picture if that’s where he fell from?
joese7en - 23/Nov/10
he fell from just below the roof with the icicle he jammed his axe behind clearly visible

you need to view the other photos first.
I saw this one and thought he had slipped down the shallow slope from where he left his crampon. Didn't seem too bad

Ladies
It's good to see me in my youth and see so many of you are like me but despite my best efforts still alive.
Al, I had forgotten all about this climb, or lack of, what a great picture!
Erstwhile - you asked what I am up to! Currently I am working way too hard in Saudi Arabia recovering from the debris of a failed marriage and doing almost no climbing! Would love to know what any of you guys are up to! Regards Duncan
