The only alpine E.D. I ever led and it wasn't long after that it was downgraded !
I did it with Mo Anthoine the year after he got frostbite on the Brenva epic with Richard McHardy. Mo had bought these enormous double boots to protect his feet and he was so uncomfortable with them that I had to lead it all, which was unusual. In Wales we were pretty much equals but in the Alps I was very much the junior partner.
