In letters to the editor Bob Whittacker wished the new magazine luck but disagreed with Walt Unsworth that there were no new crags left to discover in Yorkshire. In the sixties Bob had a huge list of 'secret crags and quarries' with new route potential.

Hi Brian...I guess it was the era of secret crags....Allan Austin always seemed to be developing secret crags in the Lakes and Yorkshire in the sixties

Didn't Unsworth reckon that crags were played out? Amazing timing - just as climbing was set to explode! Some guy called Pete, with a goofy grin...

Maybe it's a generational thing...each one seems to be able to raise climbing standards that little bit higher than the previous one... Wall of Horrors was considered pretty desperate in the sixties...kids today fly up it....well nearly!!!!
