Al was climbing with George Homer and at this point he is stood in a sling. They both backed off when they realised that they could not climb it clean, or even "nearly" clean.
Henry Barber soloed it in 1976 on US television and he told me that it was the third most stupid thing he had ever done ! The second I forget, but he said that the first was yet to come !!!
