These 3 bolts have been placed by person or persons unknown for a number of months now, on the descent between Walt's Wall and Lower Walls. They are not on any route and I can only speculate on their purpose. Just thought you ought to know.

This may be unconnected, Mark but last year at a BMC area meeting at the Belmont Bull there was a chap talking about placing bolts on the descent off the Prow at Wilton One. I think he wanted them to set up a rope handrail to protect kids/clients passing that way. I told him that I thought it wasn't appropriate. Something similar may be going on here? The hangers look rusty!

The look ancient (at least the hangers do). Their orientation is rather odd, as if they were designed to be used as an equalised anchor for something.

Or somebody is practising bolt placement, with other plans in mind?

Might have been a failed attempt to hang a H&S sign saying sommat like "Danger uneven ground".

Yes the hangers are old, unfashionable and rusty. Basically, sheet metal bent 90 degrees with a corner cut off and a couple of holes drilled in them. Not unlike those on Super Indirectissima at Denham.
The bolts are shiny, stainless and new.
Interesting comment about the handrail Karl. The configuration doesn't suit for me though. However, I can see why someone might want to do that for kids and groups. Although the descent is not as tricky as the Wilton 1 prow, it isn't a walk either (probably a grade 1 scramble).
Yes, it could be a sign of things to come Lemming. Let's hope not.
I don't know about the sign gsum, but there are plenty around the perimeter so could be.
